SCLENDS is a consortium of 20 county libraries and the State Library that has agreed to share resources and circulating materials. SCLENDS libraries share a single catalog allowing patrons to search for items in all of the libraries. Search the SCLENDS catalog here! [Or checkout the new SCLENDS app below]

  • 1. | How do I get a library card? (What do I need?)
To get a library card you will need to have a picture ID (driver’s license) and proof of in-county residency. If you live outside of Calhoun County, you can still get a library card by paying an out-of-county fee ($5 for 3 months or $20 for the year)
  • 2. | How old do I need to be to get a library card?
There is no age requirement for library cards! We offer starting juvenile library cards for children between the ages of 0-5 years old.
  • 3. | What do I do if I lose my library card?
We offer replacement library cards for $2.00. However, if your current library card has expired, we can give you a replacement card for free!
  • 4. | How do I renew my books?
Patrons have 3 weeks to keep a library book. After 3 weeks, the book will automatically renew for another 3 weeks. If you are not finished with the book after the second 3 weeks, you will need to bring the book back to the library. A staff member will be able to re-check it out to you.
  • 5. | How do I request a book/place a book on hold?
Patrons have the option to either request/place a book on hold themselves though the SCLENDS catalog, or call the library and a staff member will place the request/hold for you.
  • 6. | Can I print, copy, or scan documents at the library?
Yes! The library offers printing, copying, faxing, and scanning services for all patrons. See our full list of services here.
  • 7. | Does the library have WiFi?
Yes, the library has free wifi for patrons to use when they come inside. No password is required.
  • 8. | Can I use the library’s computer? Even if I don’t have a library card?
Yes, patrons are allowed to use the library’s computers even without a library card. Patrons without a library card can get a Guest Pass to use the computer. Ask library staff for assistance.
  • 9. | Does the library offer computer help?
If you need assistance with minor computer issues like printing, saving information to a flash drive or logging into your email account, a library staff member can help you! However, the library does NOT offer assistance with filling out forms, completing applications, completing tax information, or typing documents.
  • 10. | Does the library have study rooms or meeting spaces?
Yes! The library has various rooms that can be used for meetings or quiet study. Some rooms are ‘first come first served’, other rooms need to be reserved in advance. To book a room reservation, give us a call and a library staff member will assist you.
  • 11. | Can I donate books and other materials to the library?
