Annual Events

Grow With Me

In the Spring, children engage with baby animals and have the opportunity to plant their very own tomato plant, Hairy Harry plant, and a windowsill herb. Each child leaves with a bagful of goodies and a free book!

Summer Reading Program

In the summer, running through June and July, the library holds weekly summer reading programs each Thursday at 10:30am. After each program, children take home snacks, crafts, and a free book!

Science Camp

Along with summer reading, the library has a week-long science program conducted by Dr. Lesa Rice-Jackson, retired chemist. Registered children learn about lab safety, keeping a lab journal, and conducting science experiments! Previous topics: Studying red clay, crystal growing, seed germination and more! For more information check our social media or call the library to register.

Cookies with Santa

In the winter, Santa comes to the library to take photos with children while they enjoy Christmas cookies and hot chocolate. After photos, patrons can stay for a Christmas play by Porkchop Productions, known for their funny theatrical performances and life lessons.

Community Baby Shower

In the fall, all expectant parents and mothers who have a child under 1 year old, are invited to join us for our Community Baby Shower. Parents have the opportunity to engage with representatives from local vendors such as DHEC, Family Health Center, and First Steps about resources and supplies needed for parenthood. At the end, parents leave with a care package filled with vendor resources, board books, diapers, wipes, a baby blanket, and other baby supplies (bib, onsie, pacifier with clip, etc.)

Boo Bash

On Halloween, children can come dressed in their Halloween costumes and enjoy an evening of playing spooky games, winning prizes, free books, and of course getting candy!
